There are 22 buildings in the Grand Palace complex, and the main buildings are 4 characteristic palaces and 1 Temple of the Emerald Buddha.

Important ceremonies have been held here by successive royal families. The Temple of the Emerald Buddha is also part of the Grand Palace, accounting for a quarter of the entire Grand Palace, and it represents the highest status among all temples in Thailand. The buildings in the temple are magnificent, with gold and jade shining brightly. It combines the characteristics of various Thai temples and is the largest temple in Thailand. When you enter this temple complex, you will see some intimidating statues that are 6 meters tall and dressed in battle attire, murals depicting the epic of "Ramakien," and beautiful gilded half-human and half-lion statues (Apsonsi) on the steps, whose duty is to guard the temple. It was not until 1784 that the King of Thailand welcomed the Emerald Buddha to the Temple of the Emerald Buddha for worship.

There are giant guardian stone statues at the entrance of the temple. The courtyard where the main hall is located has a very beautiful decoration on the gate, which is colorful, and two tall dragon columns stand on both sides. There are bronze statues of elephants in the courtyard, and some stone statues with the characteristics of people from the Ming Dynasty in China are also placed on both sides of the courtyard. After leaving the courtyard of the main hall and walking towards the Chao Phraya River bank, you can reach the square courtyard where the five pagodas are located. The main pagoda in the center is the 79-meter-high Brahman-style spire, the Prang of Wat Arun. Both the base and the body of the pagoda are square, with many layers, and the area decreases layer by layer, giving it a simple and solemn appearance. It is decorated with complex carvings and inlaid with various colored ceramic pieces, glass, and shells.
